The technology powering Belgian mobile apps
Out of curiosity, I’ve compiled a list of technologies used in various Belgium-made or Belgium-specific mobile apps. If you think my analysis might be off, I’d love to hear your thoughts!
I'll keep this list up to date with new finds. If there are any explicit sources, they're linked next to the app.
How I analyze these applications
To investigate which technology powers them, I use rekt, the Go CLI I wrote specifically for reverse engineering & probing mobile app archives (APKs and IPAs). Down the hood this uses a combination of jadx, a Hermes decompiler for React Native, and file detection for other tech.
I mainly investigate Android apps, as their APKs are easy to obtain via sites like apkpure, apkcombo or apkdownloader.
If there are any official sources confirming the tech (e.g agency case studies, job vacancies, engineering blogs, meetup presentations) they are listed next to the app.
